KILNFORMED GLASS - FUSING AND SLUMPING

                                                                                          

 

As a student in this workshop, you will be provided with the

fundamentals necessary to pursue fused glass. The workshop will

begin with exercises in glass cutting, including straight and curved

cuts, as well as perfect circles and rings. You will use your new

skills to design, cut, and compose the parts necessary to make two

fused and slumped plates/bowls.

 

Discussions and demonstrations will cover the basics of kilnforming,

types of glass and compatibility, slumping considerations, kilns, firing

schedules, volume control, devitrification, design principles, mold and

shelf preparation. No glass experience necessary. All materials are

included.

 

 

NOTE: Please bring comfortable shoes (no open toes) and an apron or workshirt to protect clothing.

 

Classes are held one evening per week for 4 consecutive weeks.

DICHROIC GLASS PENDANT / EARRINGS

                                                                                        

 

Discover the beauty of dichroic glass and the fun of warm glass fusing in this one day workshop. Learn how

to create glass pendants or earrings for yourself  or for a beautiful and unique gift. Basic glass cutting, warm

glass knowledge, and design principles will be covered in this class and then it's hands-on to create 4 to 6

pendants or earring sets. Students will be required to attend for approximately one hour after the kiln firing

is finished to complete embellishing their projects and take them home. Gift boxes are included in course

price.  No glass experience is necessary.  All materials are included.

 

NOTE: Please bring comfortable shoes (no open toes) and an apron or workshirt to protect clothing.

 

Classes are held one day or evening per month. This class may be scheduled more than once per month.

MONTHLY FUSED GLASS PROJECTS

Come and learn the art of fusing glass in our monthly fusing workshops. A new theme will be 

introduced each month and one or two fusing project workshops are scheduled.

 

 

Basic glass cutting, warm glass knowledge and design principles will be covered in this workshop and then

it's hands-on to create your masterpiece. Students will be required to pick up their projects after kiln firing is

completed. No glass experience is necessary. All materials and basic designs are included.

Classes are held one day or evening per month. This class may be scheduled more than once per month.
